A speech competition is a powerful platform for developing effective communication and public speaking skills. Recognizing its importance, a speech contest was organized at Don Bosco ITI, Kokar, Ranchi on 6th May 2025. The event, held in the library hall, began at 12:45 PM and saw enthusiastic participation from 17 contestants.
Each participant had selected a relevant and thought-provoking topic, including: Artificial Intelligence, Mental Health, My Country, Politics and Corruption, Sports and Games, Environment, Terrorism, Critical Thinking, Deforestation, Cybercrime, Sustainable Development, Population, Newspaper, Healthy Life, and Pollution. All speakers came well-prepared and delivered their speeches with confidence and clarity.
The event was well-coordinated by Br. Tom, along with first-year electrician trainees, who managed the necessary arrangements. The competition was judged by Br. Robin Thomas and Mr. Jerry, who carried out their responsibilities with great attention to detail and fairness.
Gonzala Toppo was declared the Best Speaker of the Day for her impactful presentation on Sustainable Development, with a focus on societal welfare.
Overall, the competition fostered a spirit of healthy rivalry and encouraged participants to push their limits. It was evident from the informal feedback that the event significantly boosted the participants’ confidence and communication skills. Many expressed a sense of accomplishment and felt motivated to seize similar opportunities in the future.
The audience, comprising non-participant trainees, listened attentively and gained valuable insights from the wide array of topics presented. They too were inspired to take part in future contests and enhance their public speaking abilities
